Well, Cafundó is an established word in the dictionary and is contained in popular expressions throughout the country. Of course, when you search for this queue, many things appear. Including totally different business andproducts, but keep something in common with us:

Let’s start with the 2005 feature film directed by Paulo Betti and Clovis Bueno, starring Lázaro Ramos. He acts a former slave that goes through several divine experiences that enables him to make “miracles – to the point of creating his ownchurch itself. In the world of design portfolios, we found mr. Toscanini Heitor making a brandmark for a bar and restaurant named Cafundó. Is it a proposed redesign for the Cafundó from Iru? We’ll never know, but the fact is that it’s surely was good-looking!
In scenic context, we have the spectacle of the Cafundó Twine, spotted at the city of Belo Horizonte, telling the story of the Cordel literature and Matuta poetry . Too bad it is on air anymore. But who knows when it’s coming back?
Quilombo Cafundó
The afrodecendente community full history placed in São Paulo, near Sorocaba . The memories of that Quilombo (communities of ex slaves from the old times) begins in 1888, when a former slave inherited this land from his master. Since the 40s it has attracted the attention of local farmers, and then you already know: the earth bullshit, judicias actions, etc etc..
It is a community which, being closed for a long time, has retained many traditions and cultural heritage of their slave ancestors. There are people around there who still speaks cupópia: “The language combines the morphosyntactic structure of the rustic dialect of Portuguese spoken around the community, with about 160 words of African origin (mainly quimbundo). “(Wikipedia)
Cafundó da Infância – Carlos Lébeis
In the literature, the consecrated Carlos Lebeis, contemporary of Monteiro Lobato, uses the term Cafundó for the title of his book. It is a novel that takes us to the Cafundó of Childhood, a lush place with a rich fauna and flora. The main character’s name is Spyridon Caxuxo. Friendly, huh?
Yet in the literature, this is a book of poems written by and illustrated by Sergio Napp Anelise Zimmermann.
