Conselhos de um programador… de arte.

Our Stuff / posted by in 18 Oct of 2012

Hello young and assiduous readers!
Here I am again. Some already know me from some old posts, but for those who have not yet had the opportunity I’m the programmer of the studio Cafundo studio. I give life to the always unusual and crazyprojects that our creative minds can think!

But today I’d like to propose something different to you. Let’s let dthe coding besides, and I’ll share a personal experience I had  lately that added a lot to me.

I’ve always had a very restless mind. I’ve done a bit of everything: I begged my mom put me in karaoke class as a child and quit a month later; saved money to buy a toy only to dismantle it; have lost interest and became interested in many things and issues: from questions about the meaning of life to be an expert in old cartographic drawings. And without knowing it, little by little, I was shaping myself to who I am today, and luckily, all inconstancy and uncertainty made me have the urge to learn more and more, and get ready, without knowing, to the job market and the adult life.

It’s rare to find a job that does not require you more than your specialty. Even here in the Cafundó there are jobs that require collective brainstorming on various areas: children’s products, clothing, education, music … Or even make a coffee in the afternoon, and go make it yourself (not a trainee). It seems a bit complicated and difficult, right? But it is not! Those hours I’ve spent trying to feed my doubts about useless things have prepared me, and it all happened kind of automaticly because my curious knowledge is here to help. And when there is any doubt, nothing better to ask more about it, or leave it behind on this sea of information we live in. And again I repeat: this happens automatically, simply because the desire to discover and learn becomes greater than laziness or lack of willpower.

But there is no use searching out all meaningless. Millions of things can be seen, but if you do not grab them, nothing will remain. Let me give a good example for you. Remember the case that happened to me that I said at the beginning of this post?

Then, a few months ago we had a course on Storytelling via cnly for the Cafundo crew. At first there was not much to do with my area, but I found it interesting and decided to take a chance. And thanks to the course I remembered many pseudo-stories that I had given up years ago, and revive something that would bring me great pleasure: writing. Along with this an idea was born that soon I hope to share with you that tells a written story in new technologies.
The same way  I found my next few old instruments and music tabs and it made me chase another dream: my passion for music. Three months ago I started a course of vocal technique, which brings me self-knowledge and thus making me know myself better.
With this class s is rising also the project “Cover Version” ( / VersaoCover). Still shy and in its documentation phase but it will also use technology, but this time in favor of music.

All of this is to show that what I’m doing is looking for the passio of my life and applying them to my professional area, the one that I defined to follow a career: technology and programming.

For those who had the patience to follow this philosophical adventure of this programmer who speaks to you, let me make a few last words: Be curious! Be willing to learn, like what to do, or attempt to turn this into something interesting for you. May the force be with you!
