Design minimalista em cartazes de filmes, séries e…memes!

Staff Picks / posted by in 17 Nov of 2011

Hello noble readers from this creative blog and, consequently,  lovers of the good design.

Friends spread by the country usually call me Fox (or even some derivations). I´m a new member from the team, coming from far far away lands! I came from Fortaleza/CE to Floripa 6 months ago and for about one month I´m working at Cafundó. Here I performance functions related to motion design, illustration and what else is needed.

As my first post at the blog, I tought about talking about something that really fascinates me and, for sure, is also really interesting to a lot of people: Minimalist posters.

Makes part of the designer job to synthetize  ideas that are complex in graphic solutions that communicate effectively. So, the more concise and objectives are these ideas, more interesting will be the results.  When this synthesis is taken to extremes, we see splendid minimalist works, that communicate well with only few graphic resources.

You can get great results when the designer retrays strong signs that refer easily (or quietly) to a theme, be it a movie, literature, character or whatever. Particularly I think is more interesting when the designer doesn´t  get the obvious path and uses signs that refers to the theme subtly, many times in unusual ways.

So, I made a selection of 3 artists that created series of minimalist posters that are running trough the computer networks around the world for some time.

>> The first of them is the brazilian designer Pedro Vidotto, that made a serie of minimalist movie posters. The guy has a really good taste and can make really creative readings around famous movies.

>> Today is a big fever all the successful TV series around the world. So, was inspired in these famous TV shows  that the austriac designer Albert Exergian created  a lot of minimalist posters with quite creative solutions!

>> And finally, the funniest, that are inspired in national memes. YES! Sanduíche-iche, Luisa Marilac, Jeremias, between others, are on the list. Created by Thales Trouva, the posters can take from you a good amount of laughs, even if you are alone in front of the computer!
