Some time ago I was reading the Behance forum and found the topic of a guy who wrote: “Well, I have this crazy idea. I want to make a version of Alice in Wonderland that features dozens of collaborators. One person designs each illustration. One person designs the fonts for each chapter. One person illustrates the cover, and another person designs it.” He was making “The Alice Project“ real .
The cool thing is that all profits would go to charity, donated to Oxfam International. We thought that it was a great idea and decided to participate, choosing Chapter III – White Rabbit’s House and Chapter IV – Alice and the Footman Frog to illustrate:
Chapter III – White Rabbit’s House
Chapter IV- Alice and the Footman Frog
By the way, Alice in Wonderland is a public domain book, meaning that anyone is free to publish a version of it (including the original illustrations) without requesting permission or paying for rights. Dan Bergevin, who conceived the project, saw on this a good opportunity and go ahead. We contacted him and he was always very friendly, giving assistance and keeping us informed about the book development.
After a while, the book was ready and available to buy on Amazon, in two editions: hardcover and paperback. Our book took about a month to arrive, but we guarantee that the wait was worth it!
We are very happy to be part of this awesome project, idealized by Dan Bergevin. Dan, thanks for the opportunity to collaborate and congrats for this idea!
